About The Founder

To Anjaylia Chan, Basque Burnt Cheesecake is more than just an indulgent dessert, but a vessel to connect food and soul. Basque Burnt Cheesecakes may look ordinary but it carries various layers and characters.“Don’t judge a book by its cover,” says Anjaylia.

The ”soul” of Basque Burnt Cheesecake resonates with my upbringing and personal values, to bring ”good” value, meaning, and taste experience. “My life motto is whenever someone creates something with all of their heart, then that creation is given a soul,” says Anjaylia.

 

Anjaylia dedicated her talents and attention to Soulgood Bakery. Hoping that she can bring her life motto to the people of Hong Kong, Anjaylia built Soulgood Bakery from the ground up to connect souls to Soulgood food. As a woman entrepreneur, she is constantly motivated by the everyday experience of working for what she loves. Curating a heart-warming dessert with her own hands has helped Anjaylia realise the pure joy and reward of caring for others and seeing people enjoy Soulgood Bakery’s sincerest creations.

Soulgood Bakery is collaborating with Hong Kong’s favorite Taiwanese restaurant Check-In Taipei to launch a new dessert - Roasted Oolong Tea Basque Cheesecake with Cheese Foam. From 1st Aug 2021 to 30th Sep 2021, all proceeds from the sale of this dessert will go directly towards Feeding Hong Kong.
